Nobody is average, so why should theatre be?
Such is the philosophy of Not Your Average Collective, a newly founded theatre company made up of Brit and Canadian duo Elisha Grace. and Alex Franks. Their goal? To represent the unrepresented, to tell the untold, to challenge popular culture with the not so average.
Their inaugural production takes inspiration from 16th century female criminal Moll Cutpurse. Opening up her controversial story to new audiences through interactive fun, games and puzzles. The consciously ‘low-tech’ look is all part of the fun, with silly string, a cardboard theatre and felt moustaches all cropping up along with the action.
Previewing at RCSSD in a matter of weeks, Not Your Average Collective are currently in talks with venues to find a home for their debut this Summer.
